Amazing food, hand made, freshly prepared tortillas, salsa prepared at the table by an excellent waiter, Salvador. And the crispy crickets were so delishious! Keep up the good work Casa de la Luz!

Nice, chill ambiance with excellent food. Came two nights in a row! First night, I had the grilled mushroom salad and the caldo de piedras, a traditional indigenous soup. Both delicious - I highly recommend. Also, my server Juan was attentive and helpful. Second night, I had the grilled octopus and chorizo sopes, and once again the Caldo de Piedra. Food was still very delicious, and server Juan was still very helpful.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely amazing! Tezontle Restaurante delivers an unforgettable experience. The food is authentic, bursting with flavor, and clearly made with love and tradition. Every dish we tried was incredible — truly some of the best we’ve had in Mexico City. The staff are equally wonderful: warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing their culture and cuisine. You can feel the heart and soul of Mexico in every detail here. Highly recommended to anyone looking for real, delicious Mexican food in a cozy and friendly setting. Can’t wait to come back!

Very modern and stylish restaurant Mexican Restaurant with very welcoming service. You’ll get your salsa cooked right next to your table. For the Europeans - dishes are spicy and very spicy. If you can’t eat spicy food, like me, they have beat root salad and a quesadilla with mushrooms. Fun fact: they claim that in the building where the restaurant and hotel is located, has lived Hernán Cortés. Enjoy!

The place is located behind the main cathedral in the heart of Mexico City. Cute terrace with amazing staff. Juan and Zaira took good care of us and explained the origins of every dish we had. Food was freshly made and tasty ( bit too hot for me but hey we are in Mexico)

There is a kindness and everyone that works there has it, the service is like if you were eating at their house and as a guest, they were treating you as such with so much respect. The food was amazing and surprisingly very filling, we didn’t have enough room for dessert. This place is very beautiful, you’ll have plenty of photo ops. I was pleasantly surprised at how great of a time we had. We had such nice and easy conversations with the workers because they genuinely had such an interest in getting to know us. What a great surprise! We are guests of the hotel, Casa de la Luz (also terrific) and came to Tezontle because it has decent reviews and was directly across from our room. We entered the lovely terrace, were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The cocktail and food options looked interesting so we decided to share several smaller things and we're abundantly rewarded. Everything popped with beauty and flavour. So...we came again our second night and tried more lovely tasty things and drinks. Easily as good the second night

We had an incredible dining experience at Tezontle, thanks in large part to our outstanding servers, Salvatore and Antonio. Their warm, attentive service made us feel truly welcome from start to finish. The drinks were phenomenal—expertly crafted, balanced, and full of bold, vibrant flavors. Each cocktail was its own experience, pairing perfectly with the atmosphere and cuisine. The shrimp dish was a standout—beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection. And the chocolate tamale? Absolutely unforgettable. Rich, complex, and indulgent—it was the perfect sweet finish to an exceptional meal. Tezontle is a gem.
